Chapter 8-11

Screwtape seems to tell wormwood alot of good useful information. In one of his letters, he tells him to make good use of anything, even his enemy's because he wants His creatures (meaning humans) to be a replicate of his life. (i think). In chapter nine, it was a little bit more easier to read, but i don't relate to it. He says that humans seem to easily fall in love so quickly. They have more energy in the beginning of the relationship and sometimes in the it's not what you thought it would be. So that's when relationships end. It can be dissappointing to some people because people wonder what happened with the fun and excitement when they first met? on the second page of Ch. 9, i think what he's also trying to say is that when you should meet someone, it should not be at a druken moment because it's not a real thing? i think that is what it says??? Also, that God created this invention for two people to become one. So he says that we must put in some effort into one another instead of one putting effort and the other not.

I can relate to what is said about love. In the beginning everything seems so great and then as time goes on people don't put as much work into things because everything just seems so natural, like the two people are one and don't have to try to make things work. My relationship of 5 years just ended because my guy met some girl who he has fun with. He's back to the excitement part and is basing his decisions off of a first impression without thinking of consequences. Like I said in my blog, people are easily influenced by others at low points in life.

I agree with what you interpreted the letters to mean. There are so many times relationships can seem so ideal and perfect and then all of a sudden the 'fire' is gone and it is not as good as it was toward the beginning. I think that people dont fall in love fast but their other emotions and feelings take the best of them and lust can most of the time beat of love in relationships. This is a factor that can cause a relationship to crumble too.

I agree with Kacy. When you get what you want or something new there is a lot of excitement. After a while, where is that feeling? We live a continuous fight for surviving and keeping relationships to grow. If your relationship stops growing, there would be a problem sooner or later.
